Hitchens is the best. If you want mental clarity, listen to this man on youtube. You will feel better and you will be more intelligent. FYI, he is an AMERICAN now and so is the greatest american intellectual by far. He makes me proud to be an american.

as much as i hate it you can never get rid of religion. even in the countries you've listed there are large religious populations. it wont go away, the only hope is to have it kicked out of the public sphere, hopefully that'll be soon

religion is possible to end ,realize that much of the developed world has nearly done it. Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada,Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom are among the least religious societies on earth. According to the United Nations' Human Development Report they are also the healthiest, as indicated by life expectancy, adult literacy, per capita income, educational attainment, gender equality, homicide rate, and infant mortality.
