The NBA was better when he played. They played better defense. He also averaged 20 points with the wizards on 40 year old legs. He would have easily averaged 30 a game, probably more.

ok not to dis jordan but I dont think if he was a lot younger he would be able to score as much in the nba, the nba is so much better than 10 years ago

Did you really expect the Bulls to win 55 games, and make it deep into the playoffs, WITHOUT Jordan? Pippen's supporting cast really wasn't very good if you look at them carefully. Early in Jordan's career, he had Oakley (who was top 5 rebounder in the league), George Gervin (one of the 50 greatest players), and Woolridge ( who averaged 20+ ppg). Even Jordan stated that those early teams for which he played had talent. Where is Jordan's "hardware" without Pippen? Let's talk about that.

That's not an excuse for Jordan. He supposedly had this "undeniable will to win," but couldn't get his team to respectability until Pippen arrived. Pippen had one good season as the leader of the team, but Jordan had NO good season(s) as the leader. That can't be disputed.
