Respectfully, being a priest is not about power. It's about service. All are called to serve God and his Church. The hard part is discerning where that is, be it as a priest, deacon, religious brother or sister or as a faithful lay person. No man or woman can demand admission into the priesthood. It is a divine calling to be determined as genuine by the Holy Church. If power is what you seek, you may find it. But, remember the words of our Lord, "Blessed are the meek..."

Loved it. Born & raised, NY City-went to St Lucy's, Bx, received First Communion & Confirmation there. Went to OL of Mt Carmel & St Nick of Tolentine - Bronx -- St Pat's in Manhattan, St Francis- quiet POWERFUL solitude and beauty of their basement church with reproduction of Veronica's Veil. WOMEN need roles of POWER in the Catholic Church-I Wanted to be a Priest when I was 18 - ha! No such thing. So I became a Universal Life Minister and now minister God's Word to all- human and animal.
