Hey,joshua230 I was in no way speaking badly of the woman with the amasing voice, but quite the contrary. I find it incredible that she, as well as Soonung( the Korean guy I know,)can belt out these songs with such depth of emotion and precise pronunciation without being able to speak the language of which they sing. And as for the Japanese woman--I don't know her name. It was a while back, but its one of the associations I have with this cherished song. Try a youtube search for ...

Hi,ero120. I am an avid fan of Chaka living in Japan. Won't tell me the name of the chick having sung "Through The Fire" pefectly? Although I am a Japanese, I can't figure out who she is. Please tell me what she was like. By the way, I'll tell you about why such a nice Japanese chick could't speak a bit of English. The bottomline is --- Japanese don't have to speak any English as long as they continue to live in Japan.

I once saw a Japanese chick who could't even speak english absolutely cut-up on this song at The Apollo. She hit every note perfectly. I remember she was the champion several weeks in a row. What's up with Asians and they're ability to belt out the R&B/Soul ? I know a Korean guy who can sing "Lately" by Stevie Wonder so good he'll bring tears to your eyes. But conversationally-- can barely speak english. Weird.
