I first heard this song in the classic film "Goodfellas." It played during the drug scene when Ray Liotta's character is driving along and there is a helicopter on his trail. I bought Nilsson's Greatest Hits because of this song back in the 90s. This version sounds a bit different. The difference starts at that drum interlude.

WTF IS THIS SONG ABOUT?

The long version is awesome. This is the first bass recorded d tuned. It rocked the bay area in its day. John Lennon told top exec's to give Harry over 3 million contract or he would and the exec's caved in and gave Harry his 3+ million contract. Harry was the top lyricist of his time and John said there was no better.
