Disregarding global warming controversy, some cities w/ smog do have higher rates of hospitalization of children w/ asthma. What do conservatives think about regulation by cities, states, etc. since they aren't necessarily part of any global beaurocracy? They would be more accountable to their constituents, & local boycotting is useless against a smog producing company that exports to Japan. Would the founders approve federal allowance of a state or city wide effort to reduce emissions?

solar GW: If there are more "trees"in the USA than 100 years ago, go back 300 years and I guarantee that there were more trees/larger trees/biodiversity back then than there are today, plus the USA is a significant driver of overseas deforestation and one of the worlds largest consumers of resources per capita hence your high import rates. You don't trash america you just go out and buy up other's resources instead, just like most MEDC's. We ALL need to be more sustainable in resource sourcing.
