Not many can hold a candle to Big Mama Thornton,certainly not Winehouse. Yet, I still think shes good. She may not measure up to the likes of Thornton,Aretha,Holiday,etc, but, then again, there have been debates as to whether even those heavyweights measure up to singers like Joan Sutherland. Where does it end? Either youre talented or youre not. Again,Amys nothing compared to the likes of Thornton, et al, but I still think shes talented (personal probs aside)

Doesn't even compare to those who came before her.She is not soul but rather a bastard version of it.people don't even bother to do their research.I'm in a show where I have to sing REAL soul music our generation has no idea what they are talking about when it comes to real soul; Big Mamma for instance learn your history before you praise someone who doesnt write her own music and the only real "problems" she has are the ones she creates.She has no real reason to be singing blues she's spoiled.
