When the video was being made, he was in the process of suing the Ont. Gov. for these medical bills. He used this video and other media to threaten/influence the Gov. to pay for these bills. His claim was subsequently rejected and he has now filed a Charter violation suit against the ONT Gov. Do you think he would admit to any fault with a Supreme Court case pending?

yes that's strange. Where's the website that gives the waiting times for this person? And if this was true why would the person in the video say otherwise?

he's not a pro free market president if he's deficit spending and borrowing and spending beyond his means, that's not conservative. Stop putting the "free market" label on him when he isn't.

life expectancy is not at all a good indicator of healthcare availability. Genetics, diet, culture, lifestyle, etc... are big factors. You can't expect to have a good life expectancy without personal responsibility foremost

Why don't you watch the documentary? You seem pretty confidant in you views. There are a lot of people not covered in America. I guess they are all lazy and don't have jobs. And all of the people in the movie are lying and faking there injuries and hospital visits.Remember most people from both sides of the isle say we are in a health care crisis. For profit system is whats the problem. How may choices of gas do you have? there's your for profit system. The cold war is over.

Did you notice how my post regarding the wait times that were available to this man, just disappeared from this post? Someone doesn't want people to know the truth.

fabfash: Yes, people that can't afford insurance are the issue. Of course, they do get emergency treatment and it's free. What they don't get is preventive care like regular checkups, antibiotics for minor illnesses, etc. But that's something we can solve with appropriate govt help. We just need to decide to do it, and then figure out how to fund it.
We have world-class medical care, but need to figure out how to reduce the cost and how to cover the 25M poor people between ages 18-64.

atrip: You're only seeing what you want to see. There are long waiting lists for many procedures in canada/europe. Saw an item on Yahoo last month about lack of dental care in England and how some people are pulling their own teeth and fixing broken bridges/dentures with superglue.
And the old "profit" myth. Oh, if only we did away with profit, that would free up enough money to do everything for everybody. What nonsense. BTW, I worked for the fedl govt for 24 yrs; don't tell me about DMV.
fabfashionista13 (July 1, 2008 at 4:29 am)
but that means the people who can't afford insurance don't get medical treatment

You mean you can't cover everybody and still have the enormous profits for CEOs . It's funny that you use the old "can't cover everybody" line and the famous "DMV" bamboozle because that's exactly what Michale Moore documents in his film. He actually ask Canadians about the lines and goes to Europe do disprove these myths. Once people see it with their own eyes it's hard to fool them into thinking otherwise. |
