That guy has no idea what he is talking about. xml is extensible markup language. It looks a lot like html actually html looks like xml. And xhtml is in fact xml. It is not more compressed than html and since it is a markup language it couldn't possibly replace javascript. Replacing html with it would be a stupid idea since html is more userfriendly than xml. If you would like to learn about various webtechnologies I can advice you to take a peak at w3schools[dot]com , they have small tutorials.

XML is internet code, similar to HTML, but it is more compressed and takes up less space. therefor you should learn it because XML will be used instead of JavaScript and HTML on the internet.
