I appreciate your high opinion of Davies, but there is a certain craftsmanship in the original Who (1963-1989) that isn't present in the new one. Other fans have noticed how Davies series sometimes veers sharply toward parody and slapstick. And I respectfully disagree that all his episodes are top-notch. I found parts of "Rose" to be extremely grating on the nerves and that was the very first one.

Poor Donna. Everyone got a happy ending but her.

Now about murdering the Daleks. You got to understand even though killing the Daleks is the smart thing to do...it is totally against the Doctor's character...he would never purposely commit genocide. Back as Tom Baker he couldn't bring himself to do it, and as Eccleston he couldn't do it. Its just not in his nature. No matter the consequences the Doctor always tries to be a moral compass. Time and time again it has brought pain to the Doctor and loneliness...its just the kind of man he is.

First of all Russel Davies is an excellent writer. All of his episodes are top notch. He has done an excellent job with his story arcs throughout all four seasons and I would hardly say he was trying to make the show silly.

You know the irony is that Wilfred was almost the Doctor, way back in 1975. He was a serious contender for the role....however his chief competitor for the role was none other than the legendary Tom Baker himself...poor Wilfred just didn't have a chance!

Stephen Moffat is taking Russel Davies spot as head writer. So the show is in capable hands...episodes he has done include: The Girl in the Fireplace (one of my personal favorites), Blink, Silence in the Library, Forest of Fear, The Doctor Dances, and The Empty Child. The downside of all this is that they are taking a year off to make 2010 a really good season and to allow David Tennant a chance to do Royal Theater. There will be 5 specials this year by Russel Davies so its better than nothing.

He did not do the sontaran ones, fool.

Yes, Stephen Moffat. He's already done a few episodes (including the Sontaran ones) and he's awesome. XD

I noticed that too. But I'm thinking it's just the light reflecting off it.
