Woody Henderson (Part 2 - 10 mins.) Air date: 10-27-05
Woody Henderson.
.Woody is the founder and President of the Organization for Reunification & Rehabilitation of Children & Families (ORRCF). He is also a former Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), Vice President of the Columbus House Tenants Association and Vice President of the PS-9 PTA. Woody also served as an aide to Rev Al Sharpton and as President of the NY Chapter of his National Action Network. Woody has also been on the front lines in the fight for justice, equal rights and fair access to affordable housing, education, and employment. He stands up for seniors and grandparents' rights and he is not afraid to stand up to state officials and City Hall bullies and speak truth to power.
Woody was responsible for writing and compiling resolutions that approximately 20 members of the city council have endorsed, co-sponsored and adopted. Among other things, they call for the appointment of a special federal prosecutor to look into the unfair and unconstitutional ways the family courts and ACS deal with children and families in communities of color.
