open your computer's volume controls (start>control panel>sounds and audio devices>audio>sound recording>volume) and unmute stereo mix. It records REALLY LOUDLY. Unless you put the general sound recording volume down... also, don't use your mic while stereo mix is on while playing online games. Someone told me mine made a really loud noise. Mute stereo mix after you are done recording with fraps.

If you want in game sound you'll have to download the full version
