you never heard of him because you don't have of a clue of what how this all got started. And spoonie-g started this shit. How come after gucci time and PSK you never heard a peep from him again. UHHHHHH, no more style to bite from, he got put on blast and couldn't get another record done. One hit wonder is what schooly-d is. funny how his name sounds just like the original spoonie-g. Learn your history then talk!!!or google it. Spoonie that is then hit me back.

yep, i just realized today, after all these years, that this sounds like " the big beat " by spoonie Gee and also that this track was sampled or sounds similar to eazy E's " Boyz n' tha' hood " track. so i guess it's spoonie Gee, schoolly D, then eazy E. [ id dig schoolly's version the most cos' it has the biggest bass, echo and cymbal ]

Schooly D from Philly homeboy, not NYDC. PSK was a Philly crew.

U need to read my comment again bro. I said Ice-T had some great early stuff. He was on par w/ NY mc's BEFORE he started copping Schooly's shit. Btw, I'm from Cali. I just don't like MCs w/weak rhyming skills. Even CALI ignored it's MCs that were the best. Rap out here has always been more about image & swagger, than actual skill. I ain't sayin that there weren't weak old skool rappers..the fact of the matter, however, is that NY MC's were better. Not hating!

now thats some nonsense you talking, ice had some legit hits hater, cuzz yall lose me when yall get into that new york shit, who gives a fucc where you from, and don't act like alot of old school rappers didn't succ keep it networth yell

Not only that, but Ice-T (who actually was a comptenant MC before he started doing gangsta rap) directly bit off of Schooly's style. Schooly was a lousy copycat of Spoonie, and ice-T's rapping wasn't great after "6 in the morning" either. Ice-T helped to influence gangsta rap (most gangsta artists sucked too! 1 lousy style begets another!
