I don't think it would have been wise of him to speak ill of Bush to his face, even in joking. I think, for the task, he did magnificently.

That certainly had to take a lot of guts to go up in front of all those people and do what he did. I don't think a lot of them appreciated his humor but it's their loss. Too many of them never had a sense of humor to start with.

Everyone goes after Bush. It's become passe and predictable. Craig knew he'd never be as scathing as Colbert, and Colbert managed to Kill and Bomb at the same time. Colbert's address was more for his own entertainment, Ferguson managed to walk the line and got a standing ovation. Bush is an idiot, but tell us something we don't already know?
