This explosion actually cracked the sea floor and started a new volcano. You can see all the the debris that it ejected. As of today, it has created a new island about 3 acres in size out of hot lava.

The black dust is from a sunken WWII barge which they didn't know was there and was filled with 10 tonnes of explosives. They were only trying to clear mines!

That sure as hell wadn't no hand grenade. I actually don't even think it was the standard-issue 100-gallon drum loaded to capacity with super-high exp. like TNT or Nitrog. That big cloud of black ash I think was actually the result of an underwater volcano erupting. Then again, I may be confusing two similar clips.
BTW: It really doesn't matter what died in the eruption/explosion. Fish die EVERYWHERE anyway, and they prob. died a lot quicker than being torn apart by a shark....
