In 1960 Joe Kitinger jumped from a specialised hot air balloon at 100, 000 feet. (approx 20 miles), he fell to Earth at the speed of sound but had no sensation of his speed and felt like he was suspended above the Earth.

Joe Kitteringer is my inspiration!! Watching this video makes it clear that you can doing anything if you have the balls to try. Damn you can say what you want about Americans, but we sure have some crazy bastards with huge gonads living here .

Besides this incredible feat, Col. Kittinger also was the first to fly a hot air balloon over the Atlantic & spent 18 months as a POW at the Hanoi Hilton. True American hero.
