This is ridiculous. This person is implying a logical link between two completely unrelated things on the basis that they share a word in their name. This is superficial nonsense. The only evidence put forward is the specious claim that democratic majorities never return liberal capitalist governments and so people need to be duped. In fact, almost all instances of "shock therapy" occurred in democratic countries as a result of the free election of leaders who made it clear what they would do.

This is a radical concept. It takes a long time for things like this not to be taken as "left wing propaganda", "liberal conspiracy bullshit", or any other dirty words you throw at people who think America can be a better country than it already is. Why are so many Americans so quick to defend a political regime that is obviously rife with corruption and not concerned with it's citizens? WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE? A S.W.A.T. team in your living room? By then it will be too late...

This video is absolutely brilliant even though you may not agree. Naomi Klein's thesis is opening a discussion that is extra prescient in the age of George W Bush who seems to have embraced fully the idea of exploiting or creating crises that big business can turn into profit streams at the expense of the general public.
