tehmono: "Free Tibet"? Are you kidding? That's like bringing back slavery to the Old South in the U.S. It's like returning Tibet to its 14th century, slave-owning, feudal Theocracy under the Dalai Lama, where 95 % of Tibetans were serfs or slaves.

The 9 years old kid entering the opening ceremony with Yao Ming is, of course, not his son. He's Lin Hao, a survivor of the recent Wenchuan earthquake. Lin crawled out of the rubble of his school, but did something unusal for his age. He went back, pulled out and rescued two of his classmates. A young hero. Lin's participation in the opening ceremony was the subject of an internet survey in China few months back. About 1,000,000 people and I voted for him.
