That's like telling somebody not to take HIV retro-viral drugs, because they have bad side effects. Try measuring the side effects versus whatever you're treating. Did you know that some aspirins cause damage to the stomach lining? Did you know that some people are allergic to latex? We should outlaw condoms.

Which proves that psychiatrists CAN'T cure mental illness, only "manage" it with some very strong drugs that are proven long-term to cause such major neurological damage as tardive dyskinesia (permanent muscle twitching), akathisia (the feeling like you want to crawl out of your own skin, which leads to self-mutilation, violence and suicide), diabetes, massive weight gain, and heart problems. Some solution. Is this really the best the psychs can do? Guess so.

The point of most psych meds is not to CURE mental illness, but to TREAT mental illness. Anti-psychotics don't cure schizophrenia, but they stop people from having the symptoms of schizophrenia.

The FDA was bought and paid for by the drug companies long ago. That's why the government is finally trying to reform it now. Let's face it, the whole FDA approval process is a scam. The foxes are guarding the henhouse, and the American public is on their own.

by all this propoganda against psychiatry how is the treatement of mental health disorders going to advance- look how far it has come already! we WILL eventually have scientifically proven treatements, but at the moment patients who are very ill are made better by psych. EVERY argument against psychiatry is flawd. i have seen first hand the outstanding benefits of psychiatry. A schizophrenic on a desert island is still a schisophrenic, this moron on a desert island would still be a moron^^^
